I work with clients around a variety of concerns, including:
Individual counselling & psychotherapy sessions - $120.00
Couples - $150.00
Individual sessions - 60 minutes.
Couples sessions - 90 minutes.
The initial session may require additional time, approximately 15 minutes in addition to the scheduled session time.
Payment will be required following each session, unless a payment plan is in place.
In my work with individuals who are in partnerships (mainly couples, but sometimes larger groups), I focus on the idea that relationships have multiple realities. This includes the separate realities of each individual and the reality of the relationship itself.
Together, we will closely examine the shared reality of the relationship, in which each partner plays a distinct role. By discussing and defining this shared reality, we can identify any gaps that may be causing discord and distress. Similar to my work with individual clients, there may be assignments for both partners to complete outside of our sessions.
These assignments are designed to challenge individuals to take new actions, which will then begin to change the reality of the relationship and make it more satisfying and fulfilling. When new problems or issues arise, partners can rely on the new techniques and language we have developed to bring understanding and meaning to the disagreements, instead of simply reacting to them as they may have done in the past.
Through this shared vocabulary, the couple will begin to engage with each other in new ways that promote a deeper connection and understanding.
In today's fast-paced world, the convenience of online counselling sessions cannot be overstated. From the comfort and privacy of your own home, you can engage in meaningful therapy at a time that suits your schedule.
Whether you prefer telephone sessions or utilizing platforms like Microsoft Teams, the flexibility of online counselling ensures that distance and time constraints are no longer obstacles to seeking professional guidance.
Our journey will focus on exploring the connections between thoughts, emotions, and actions, identifying unhealthy cycles, and breaking free from them. We will use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to develop strategies to challenge negative thoughts and empower you with positive ones.
Mindfulness will be a central focus, allowing you to observe thoughts and feelings without judgment. Homework exercises may be assigned to deepen understanding and promote personal growth. The success of our therapeutic journey depends on our therapeutic alliance, and we will prioritize comfort, trust, and confidentiality.
